Course description
One of the challenges facing graduates of film and television programs in the contemporary audiovisual field is future employability and the acquisition of skills that will enable them to succeed in the dynamically changing audiovisual industry. Linear television broadcasting and streaming platforms represent a strong potential area of application in terms of audience reach and the volume of material produced. Graduates of bachelor's programs in the field of audiovisual studies have the basic theoretical and practical prerequisites to successfully engage in the creation of television formats.
The aim of the Academy of Media and Television Studies is to develop these competencies through the synergistic combination of theoretical knowledge and its practical application directly in the environment of the oldest commercial broadcaster in the Czech Republic. The one-year course, which is closely linked to practical experience, will enable students to develop their professional skills with a focus on television production and its specific formats by combining the deep academic traditions and qualities of FAMU with the background and know-how of one of the leading players in the audiovisual industry. The aim is to synergistically combine two environments: to offer graduates of audiovisual fields a specialized skill set that will significantly improve their employability in the audiovisual sector, and to enrich the television and streaming industry with a new generation of talented professionals who create with an awareness of their social responsibility to inform, entertain, and inspire truthfully.
