Sustainability Consultant: Production Practices (CZVF250003)

Learning outcomes

The alumnae and alumni understand the audiovisual production and its impact on the environment, have a grasp of the key topics of environmental transformation with regard to both artistic and technical roles within production crews, and understand the role of sustainability consultants. They can manage the issues of electricity consumption, the options for connecting to the grid and using mobile energy sources, low-emission transport, and energy-saving measures in buildings and materials used in the audiovisual industry, including their reuse and disposal. They can apply the principles of sustainability to specific projects, analyse environmental impacts, plan and implement measures, conduct technical discussions, evaluate projects, and provide constructive feedback with proposed solutions.

Výsledky učení – znalosti

The alumna/alumnus:

• understands the impacts of audiovisual production on the environment,

• knows the role and competences of sustainability consultants,

• understands the principal terms of electrical equipment usable in filmmaking,

• is well-versed in matters of short-term connection to the grid and mobile energy sources,

• understands the principles of non-violent communication,

• understands the topics of low-emission transport and energy-saving measures in buildings,

• knows the materials used in the audiovisual industry, their origin and options for their reuse and disposal.

The alumna/alumnus can:

• apply sustainability principles to specific audiovisual projects,

• analyse projects from the viewpoint of environmental impacts and define the priorities for sustainable measures,

• prepare plan of measures and set up a system for implementing them,

• orchestrate technical discussions with different sections of the crew,

• evaluate a completed project and appreciate successfully adopted measures,

• provide constructive and empathetic feedback.
