One Year Intensive Program - Sound (CZVF230009)

Introduction to Film Sound is a One Year Intensive Program Intensive at FAMU International Prague that immerses students in the artistic and technical art of sound in film. Through an equal combination of theory and practice exercises, participants learn the core elements of location sound recording, sound editing, sound design, Foley and mixing. Using professional-grade equipment and software, students learn a solid foundation in production and post-production sound and develop the skills to manipulate a film's auditory experience with accuracy and artistry. The curriculum covers sound theory, audio storytelling, and historical context, as well as collaborative work on actual film projects—including the entire sound design of a short film. Trained by industry-qualified instructors and artists, the program offers individual mentoring and intimate group workshops that allow space for individual growth and professional criticism. Graduates possess a diverse portfolio of creative original work and professional skills that can lead into postgraduate career work or beginning careers as film, television, and new media sound designers.
